Eps 122 - After leaving a successful HR career behind exactly one year ago, laying people off or getting the ax myself seemed to be a horrible constant. During this journey I kept most of my experiences with this to myself, but after getting laid off right before Christmas in 2018, I felt it was time to pay it forward, share my story with you. It's unfortunate but I'm sure we may have one or two listeners that are in the same boat as I was last December. This episode brings you insight on how layoffs shaped my career, what happens behind the scenes before someone is laid off, and guidance on how to survive being laid off yourself. It may not be the only story, but the lessons I have learned have come from years of experience getting good at doing what others simply don't want to do.
If you or someone you know needs help getting through a year-end layoff or someone in your family has been affected, do not hesitate to contact me via email at thedependentindependent@gmail.com.
